Dear Potential Festival Attendees:
Back in 2002 we experienced one of our most interesting and exciting Feast of Tabernacles when 115 of us ventured onto the high seas to observe a Feast Caribbean Cruise. We had services together on the ship before venturing out to see Aruba, St. Thomas, St. Maartin, Curacao then back to San Juan.
This is the year to do it again. All new ports, fun and explorations. We invite you to join us on Royal Caribbean's ship - Mariner of the Seas. Celebrate the 1st Holy Day in Port Canaveral, Florida. In the evening, enjoy a night of touring and fellowship. On the second day, Sunday, we board the ship and away we sail with ports of call to include Labadee (Hispaniola); Ocho Rios (Jamaica); George Town (Grand Cayman); Cozumel (Mexico). Last Great Day services and farewell dinner will be observed on the ship Saturday. We dock and depart early Sunday morning for home. The cruise is open to all members of the Churches of God.
Kathy Summers of Designed for You Travel in Naperville, Illinois is putting the package together for us. Based on the numbers, discount cabin rates and amenities from Royal Caribbean will be negotiated - what this means is that the more people that we have attend the Feast Cruise, the lower the final price will be for the package.

To get your cruise started, call Kathy Summers of Designed for You Travel 630-983-7300 or 800-860-7155 and ask about the Church of God cruise package. A $500.00 deposit will reserve your room based on the schedule listed below. The deposit should be sent ASAP. Credit card payments can be taken by Kathy Summers of Designed for You Travel over the phone at 630-983-7300 or 800-860-7155. Checks are also accepted and should be made out to "Designed for You Travel" & then sent to:

Can I find my own airfare?
Sure! We only ask that you go through Kathy for the cruise and hotel so that the rates will go down for the whole group. If you can find others that would like to travel together as a group utilizing the same airline, Kathy may be able to assist you as well.
What kind of activities or tours are available?
We are currently planning a possible reception either on the ship after we sail Sunday or at the hotel on Friday night - of course in addition to services!

Will offerings be taken up at the Feast?
There is an option to give an offering because of Deuteronomy 16:16, but our view is that it is only 3 times a year - (Unleavened Bread, Pentecost, and the Feast of Tabernacles) - not every Holyday. We will not be asking or "passing the basket".
What will the offerings go towards?
Whatever you wish. We will be happy to mail your offering to whomever or whichever organization you support.
Is this a fund raising opportunity for the Church of God Downers Grove?
No, it is not - as stated previously, your offering goes where you want it to. If offerings are sent to the Church of God Downers Grove, they will be used to defray the cost of the Feast.
What does the Church of God Downers Grove believe?
Basically the same as any other Sabbath keeping Church of God - The only difference is that we are independent from a corporate entity.
Will there be Sabbath school for the children?
Yes, with the intention of utilizing teaching materials provided by CEM (Christian Educational Minististries). We will start asking for volunteers when we have a better idea as to the number and ages of the children who will be attending.
